Movie Info

Mike Regan is a successful, self-made man who has it all: a gorgeous wife, a beautiful teenage daughter and a sleek, state-of-the-art "smart home". But he soon finds himself in a deadly, high-stakes game of cat-and-mouse when his I.T. consultant, Ed, starts using his skills to stalk Mike's daughter and endanger his family, his business, and his life. In a world where there is no privacy, and personal secrets can go viral by the click of a mouse, Mike needs to rely on his old connections to defeat a new kind of nemesis.

Brosnan lacks the conviction of Liam Neeson when it comes to the middle-aged badass genre.

The Matrix wants its green-and-black colour scheme back. Cape Fear wants its toxic male combat back. You may well want your money back.

There are some nice touches, but it unwinds into dullness and silliness and the hi-tech conceit is basically abandoned in favour of low-tech analogue violence and punch-ups.

For a film which purports to deal with issues of privacy, I.T falls short of making a convincing commentary about the subject, resorting instead to cliched tropes about modern technology.

A movie about privacy that would be better off kept to itself.

Audience Reviews for I.T.

I enjoyed this. It reminded me of a high-tech version of Cape Fear. Of course, there are times when Pierce Brosnan carries it all along and there are other times when the tech stuff is all wrong, but overall, it's enjoyable enough.
