Critic Reviews for The Jigsaw Man
All Critics (17) | Top Critics (9) | Fresh (7) | Rotten (10)
Freed of the need to work at real characterization, Olivier and Caine, in their different ways, simply reach into their respective bags of actors' tricks and entertain us with style.

The star-studded cast... plays out its intricate story with such relish that the effect of all the confusion is not unlike that of an Agatha Christie story in which we can't wait for the final showdown.
Despite the best efforts of the supporting cast, there is little reason to see "Jigsaw Man" except for Caine and Olivier.

Something relaxes in the viewer's gut when Caine pulls on a shabby trenchcoat and pockets some microfilm.

The movie has the manner and look of John le Carre, but it makes the crucial mistake of concerning itself with the mechanics of what happened instead of why it happened.

There are huge chunks of script someone forgot to include in the finished product and the acting is, well, less than inspired.
