Those looking for familiar seriocomic beats in a modest but polished LGBTQ-targeted indie will find this pleasant enough.

There's not much new territory explored here but what's surprising is the emotional power of Phil Connell's touching feature.
Very rarely does a debut from a relatively unknown director and filmmaker manage to tug at the heartstrings as much as Jump, Darling.

It's a big melting pot that, like Russell himself, frequently loses focus. But, in its moments of clarity, Jump, Darling soars.
Thankfully, Jump, Darling's stellar ensemble performances, and richly sexy lighting make it something different from the average queer indie domestic drama.
Jump, Darling is potentially one of the best films of the year, on the festival circuit and in general, so if you come across it, give it a watch.
