The Last Alarm (1940)
Movie Info
Monogram's Last Alarm offers equal parts melodrama, sentiment and low comedy. Veteran scene-stealer J. Farrell McDonald plays a retired fireman who yearns for action. He is hired by a young insurance investigator to look into series of arsons. His wife Mary Gordon and daughter Polly Ann Young worry a lot, but McDonald is determined to prove he still has what it takes. Last Alarm director William West also helmed such Monogram contractees as Harry Langdon and the East Side Kids.
