In the French drama, a schoolteacher travels to Istanbul and meets a young woman. The two tour the city together, but he notices she is being followed by a mysterious man with two menacing dogs. The couple finds out very little about one another despite spending a delightful time together.

One doesn't casually come to L'immortelle. There has to be a willingness to take on such intentionally distanced filmmaking, leaving the picture only for the most courageous of art-house adventurers.
