Movie Info

A typical mad scientist on a typical desert island is turning convicts into an army of scary "fish-men," creatures that he intends to send to the lost city of Atlantis on a search-and-find-treasure mission. The fish-men (actors) wear UGLY costumes that were apparently designed to frighten, but may bring some good laughs.

Genre addicts might feel a little let down by the picture's eventual restraint, but what the feature lacks in sustained aggression, it makes up for in tolerable escapism.

Audience Reviews for L'Isola degli Uomini Pesce

I got this on VHS because of the tagline on the boxcover (They're men turned inside out! And worse..... They're still alive!) & the back of the box looked interesting as well but it was a rip off.If you've seen the movie then you know exactly what I'm talking about.Screamers started off great & I thought it was gonna be an awesome movie but then it just turns into The Island Of Dr. Moreau.I'm happy that I only had to pay $1 for it

A cultish, campish, low budget horror film done as only the Italians could do it. Lots of scenes featuring menacing monsters and Barbara Bach in wet clothing (or no clothing at all). Sort of reminded me of Lucio Fulci's Zombie but much more 'aquatic'.
