Mama, soy un zombi (Mummy, I'm A Zombie) (2014)

Don't ask...just don't. As you can see, this was an absolutely terrible movie. I get the fact that the movie is meant for an incredibly younger audience, while also giving the film a bit of a gothic "edge" so as to fool others into thinking this is a darker movie than it actually is. I didn't see the original and, after this, I don't particularly care to. The animation is awkward, the voice acting is even worse, and the story is horrendous. While I got about one or two chuckles out of this, this might be one of the most unfunny animated films I've ever seen. I'm not even sure if it was trying to be. But, considering the demographic this movie was intended for, you'd HAVE to imagine that comedy was supposed to be part of the package. It didn't work, of course, since the jokes won't even make little kids laugh. They're that bad. It's not like this is really the worst movie of all year, though it's close, because I can at least realize that this isn't meant to be seen as high art. It's also clear to see that they didn't have the budget of a Pixar or Dreamworks has, so that makes me more forgiving and understanding. I realize that should be no excuse since I've seen plenty of low-budgeted films that make it work in spite of how little money they actually have. But I'm still willing to give them a pass. In spite of giving the last Transformers movie a higher rating, I'd say that's much worse than this. They had over $210 million dollars for a budget and they couldn't have been bothered to tighten up the script, add compelling characters, and cut together the action sequences so it doesn't come across like all your sense are being attacked. That's not to say this isn't a terrible movie, because it is. I can't even determine WHO would actually like this that's over the age 10. If you want something for your kids to watch, either let them watch The Lego Movie for the 100th time, Mr. Peabody and Sherman, or wait until December 9th when How to Train your Dragon 2 comes out on DVD. Don't waste your time on this, as you will regret it immediately.
