In a rare dramatic turn for Bill Cosby, he plays a Civil War veteran who experiences some racial hardships while trying to homestead with his family in Arizona. When horse thieves attack, he gets help from a kind man (Yaphet Kotto) and his son (George Spell) to track down the desperadoes.
