This must be the best miniseries portrayal of any Dickens novel. Superb scenery and settings along with a magnificent cast all make for a thoroughly entertaining experience. A must see for all Dickens enthusiasts and a great place to start for the novice. RT - iphone

This features one of the best performances by Tom Wilkinson I've ever seen.

Tremendous adaptation of the Dickens novel the author himself considered his best work. Perfectly cast in every role its difficult to single out any one as best. Scofield of course is brilliant but perhaps the real standout is Phillip Franks as Tom Pinch, outwardly an odd looking man who possesses a soul of great compassion and kindness he gives an emotional heart to the entire enterprise. Set in beautifully realized surroundings with impressive attention to detail and directed so that the story never bogs down and focuses too long on any one plot thread this is perfect for any fan of the BBC or classic literature.

This was an enthralling mini-series to say the least. Although it was long (6 episodes long), the story and wide array of characters are sure to capture your interest.

The series' antagonist, a man by the name of Pecksniff, is utterly odious, making you wish he would die by the end of the film!

The series ended just how I wanted: happiness with a tinge of sorrow.

Highly recommended!
