A satisfication of cinematic friendship.

This was a really brilliant drama. Beautifully acted by the two young boys, and Julie Walters was brilliant as ever. Highly enjoyable storyline, while tackling the troubles of Belfast at the same time. I wasn't too sure about the scene where Mickybo was talking to his dead father, but it's a very good film.

It's a quite impressive movie. The little kids are wonderful with their cute accents. The story is perfect. And the smart irony at the final scene...Excellent !

A fun and touching film. It's nice that whilst you often get social-political films that use kids as an innocent voyeur on the world around them: this film is very much about the kids who's adventure is only ever interrupted by the politics of 70s Ireland. A nice ode to the joy of children's imagination even when they live in shitty times.

Really good movie. I was actually an extra in it when they filmed a part of it in Portrush, can't see me clearly but at least I can say I was in a movie.

good film - my those boys can act

A disappointing adaptation of the play, with sledgehammer-mounted messages, a forced-feeling plot, and too many "poignant" interludes creating an overwhelming sense of "worth" - which you oughtta guess from seeing Stephen Daldry's name in the credits. Great performances from the two boys though.

What a movie! Movies like this usually suffer the fate of forever being underrated and as a result unappreciated. It is one of those films driven by young actors, but these are of a different sort. They swear, cause or sort of mischief, live in their own dream world of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and surprisingly endear themselves to the audience. It is a gem of a film!
