Movie Info

Released by Poverty Row company Syndicate, this action serial starred the veteran Robert Frazer as Jack Logan, the heir to half of a map to a gold mine. Evil trader Jean Gregg (Al Ferguson) sends his henchmen to make life more difficult for Logan, who is aided in his quest to locate the mine by Helen (Blanche Mehaffey), her kid brother, Billy (Buzz Barton), local Indian Red Eagle (German-born William von Brincken), and, most importantly, an unknown uniformed man known only as "the Mystery Trooper." Produced by Harry S. Webb and Flora E. Douglas, The Mystery Trooper has gone down in history as one of the worst sound serials ever made. It was reissued in 1938 under the title Trail of the Royal Mounted.
