The movie contains three strong performances, and a subject rarely explored: the affliction of Tourette's syndrome.
The acting of central couple, Tunney and Thomas, is good, but the film can't find the balance between an intriguing character study and a chronicle of illness and its effects.
Though ostensibly honest in its depiction of Tourette's, those with Tourette's may take offense at the implication that they're psychos
Tunney...is often mesmerizing as the afflicted young woman. Niagara Niagara also boasts a fine soundtrack and was appealingly lensed in upstate New York.
To term her work a tour-de-force is not to imply that she attacks the scenery; Tunney's effectiveness lies in her modulation and vulnerability.
