The argument is reduced to exposing how the intrigues of a coquettish lady are futile in undoing the happy movie marriage between Maurice [Chevalier] and Jeanette [MacDonald].

A dapper case for matrimonial elasticity, argued in sleighs and insinuations

Co-directed by Lubitsch and George Cukor, ultimately this Oscar-nominated film bears the signature of the former, or what is known as the Lubitsch touch.

It amiably follows along the tracks of the usual Lubitsch frothy boudoir operetta.

Enjoyable at the beginning and at the end, but the middle portion had my mind wandering.

Audience Reviews for One Hour With You

Chevalier films are corny and often don't have a level of sophistication to them but they somehow end up terribly charming. This is another golden oldie that gives you a good chuckle.

This movie is a lot of fun for an old romantic comedy. The story is simple, and the ending is predictable, but the actors are good and the movie is really funny. I loved how they did the rhyming sing-song dialogue from time to time, and Chevalier's funny little interludes where he breaks the 4th wall. He's really a very charming and funny guy, this was the first movie I've seen him in. Anyway, I liked this movie it was really good.
