Critic Consensus: The Presidio is too well-cast and competently directed to be truly painful, but action fans have no shortage of more compelling options.

I liked "The Presidio."

If movies were ranked like the military, The Presidio would be a hapless recruit. It just marches off in too many directions.

Connery alone is worth the price of a ticket.

Unfortunately, "The Presidio" never progresses beyond its promising setup.
Harmon... plays off the more experienced Connery and Ryan with a confidence that renders his inexperience in feature films beside the point.
''The Presidio'' becomes an object lesson in the essential interchangeability of genre conventions.
Audience Reviews for The Presidio
One of Mark Harmon's best kept secrets -- It must've been grand working with Dean Connery

Super Reviewer
Fantastic murder mystery with police detective Mark Harmon and military provost marshal Sean Connery investigating a murder on military base. Forgot the plot and enjoy seeing Connery excel in a tailor-made role.

Super Reviewer
Cop investigates murder blah blah clashes with military ho hum falls for daughter yadda yadda. Harmon and Ryan make a dreary and unconvincing couple, and the cliched plot barely holds the attention. Peter Hyams is normally a reliable popcorn movie maker, but this is pretty feeble stuff.
