Though at times if feels like an After School Special, Prom Queen has great heart and some really great performances. Several liberties were taken in the telling of this true story, but I don't think they take from the overall message.

Ashmore was really good in this movie. Its amazing how these things can really suck you in and make you feel for the lead characters, regardless of what troubles they are enduring. putting aside all the major things wrong about the trial itself, which got a bit annoying at times since it was drastically unrealistic, it gets the emotions flowing in the right way and is a good movie to check out. As long as you don't let your own biases get in the way ;)

The real story is interesting, but this movie is mediocre at best.

I guess I have to watcha gay movie every once in a while or the gay mafia will revoke my membership. Trust me, it's in the bylaws.

Well, in any case, too bad I chose Prom Queen...

It's comically stereotypical, cheesy and very Disney Channelesque, and not in a cute way. And what's worse, for a movie that's only four years old, it's woefully dated, even the stereotypes.

Ya, I guess it has somewhat of a good message -- but that's about its only redeeming quality.

Good thing I didn;t pay anything to see this.

even if that was the attempt when making this one. The movie takes on a very comedic aspect, and instead of focusing seriously on the issues, it makes a mockery of both sides in the struggle, gay people and the Catholic church. Being a gay Catholic man I know how difficult it is to balance your faith and your sexual orientation, but even I struggle more than what they show in this movie.

According to the movie, I guess just dying my hair blue to show how proud I am of my sexual orientation will actually solve everything. Good intentions, but still a bad movie

The true story of Marc Hall, wonderfully portrayed by Aaron Ashmore. MArc goes to a Catholic High School and wants to take his boyfriend to the prom. The principal and school board deny his request saying that homosexuality is against their faith. He hires a lawyer and sues the school.

This was cute. I though that Marc's boyfriend was terribly casted though.

This movie changed my view on how we gay people are treated, what we are allowed and what we have prohibited from us. The fact that Marc Hall fought for everything and lost so much to get to the Prom with his boyfriend makes him so brave. He is a hero to every gay human that can now go to prom with their significant other.
