Movie Info

In this film, Tex Malone is a New York nightery owner who hires innocent young songstress Bee Wallace to perform in Tex's club. This effectively breaks up Bee's vaudeville act with hoofer Eddie Parr. Feeling put upon, Eddie is the most likely suspect when Tex's close friend Don Holland is murdered.

Feeble directing of these elements is compensated chiefly by the beautiful... Lila Lee as a night club entertainer.

The picture, after a rather confused start, shakes its wings and develops into quite a movie. Its melodramatic and hokumy plot unfolds in hot... jazz laden atmosphere.

An all-talkie picture of good entertaining value and packs several thrills, which successfully meet critical analysis.

While a girlish lisp in the talking scenes rather detract from the drama of the photoplay, [Texas Guinan] makes a most creditable appearance.

It is the same sort of entertainment you would get at Tex's own place in New York and a lot less expensive.

Texas may be a bright light along Broadway's gay white way, but she shines very faintly in "moompitchers."
