Movie Info

Based on a true story, Rise of the Footsoldier follows the inexorable rise of Carlton Leach from one of the most feared generals of the football terraces to becoming a member of a notorious gang of criminals who rampaged their way through London and Essex in the late eighties and early nineties. It is three decades of his life following him from football hooliganism, through to his burgeoning career as a bouncer, his involvement in the criminal aspects of the early 'rave' scene and his subsequent rise to power as one of the most feared and respected criminals in the country. The story concludes with three members of his firm being brutally murdered in the infamous shot-gun slaying at Rettenden.

Critic Reviews for Rise of the Footsoldier 3

Derivative and tedious, unless you really like lots of macho twerps beating and cutting each other, endless shots of drugs being snorted and swallowed, and swearing, unimaginatively, with every other word.

This notorious British gangster tale may have been milked more often than a herd of prize Guernseys, but the shooting to death of three top drug dealers down a remote country lane still attracts film-makers like a cowpat does flies.

Fans will enjoy 90 minutes of neckless spray-tans hitting each other with hammers (this time with an '80s soundtrack and a Shaun Ryder cameo), but most people have better things to do.

Audience Reviews for Rise of the Footsoldier 3

Pretty good Prequel telling the rise of Pat Tate before the events of the first Rise of the Footsoldier, The story is your typical London gangsta plot, Lots of drugs, Sex and violence, I did enjoy the story and I like that yet again they got the original cast back involved, Craig Fairbrass was brilliant in this film as he fit back into the role as Pat Tate with ease, It's on par with the first and better than the second.
