For all of its potential thrills, Road Train barely manages to get out of first gear.
Fans of the genre will find some highlights in the gore department, while truckies will no doubt latch onto some of the trade's unique characteristics,
...takes the simmering psychological tensions within a group dynamic, and sends a monster of a truck careening right through them, knocking events off their character-driven course and into the more genre-bound terrains of supernatural horror
Audience Reviews for Road Kill
Road Kill is yet again one of those films that have an evil vehicle as a means to terrorize its characters. Roadkill is a film from Australia about a truck that needs blood to survive. The concept may sound intriguing, but the film fails to provide the viewer with effective scares. I found this film to copy old school road films, and I also believed that it's been done better before. The film is similar to films like The Car, Duel and Joy Ride, all superior films with awesome scares. Road Kill could've worked well, but the film suffers from too many Horror road film clichés that we've seen many times before. The cast involved here give really awful performances. The acting was suitable for this type of film which is a low budget Horror film after all. The thing that's a real bummer though about the film is that the story had potential, but like I've said it's very similar to the film The Car, except now it's a semi truck much like Duel and Joy Ride. For me, Road Kill felt like a wasted opportunity to create a new type of road film. With a bigger budget, and a better cast; maybe Road Kill would have been a great Horror film, instead the film very much feels like Road Kill, and that's not saying much.

Awful. Horrible plot and terrible acting. Evil truck? YEAH RIGHT.

The world's first metaphysical evil semi-truck movie? If not, it's likely the last. Points for trying for something beyond the norm.
