Movie Info

Republic's Robin Hood of Texas stars Gene Autry in his favorite role: "Himself." Autry plays a rancher who is plagued by escaping bank robbers. There are a few uncomfortable moments for the kiddie fans when Autry seems to join the outlaw gang. But remember that the original Robin Hood robbed from the rich to give to the poor....and besides, Autry is only waiting for the opportunity to expose the crooks and return everything they've stolen. Robin Hood of Texas was Gene Autry's last Republic feature, and a worthy farewell it was.
