Believe it or not, this paltry Mexican cheapie is the third in a line of Aztec Mummy movies.

By certain camp standards, it holds a lot of promise; we have a gleefully mad scientist, a robot with a human head that looks like it came from a cheap serial from the thirties, moments of howlingly bad dialogue (some samples: "I tortured many animals...with pleasure!", "You're not only mad, but ignorant also!"), and some frightfully bad dubbing. Unfortunately, I find the movie sorely lacking in energy, and it has a static quality that gives it the feel of some of the very earliest talkies. In fact, there are stretches here where nothing is happening, such as the first few minutes of the robot resurrection scene, and cutting back and forth constantly between the characters staring at the robot on the slab does nothing to cover this up. As a result, watching this one is a bit of a chore.

there's this doctor who is trying to get some treasure except there's this aztec mummy guarding it making it impossible to retrieve. so this evil doctor builds a human robot to destroy the mummy and grab the treasure. the evil doctor's evil monologue is hilarious! oh also there's a slow climatic battle between mummy and robot. poorly dubbed in english for this spanish production, this time waster would fit perfectly in a double feature with Mesa of Lost Women (1953).

A slow film with many boring moments and one of the dullest fights I've ever seen. There's not much to the plot and the characters are uninteresting, leaving it to be a film that's best to watch on MST3K.

The Bat wants to steal Aztec valuables. There's a mummy guarding the goodies. The Bat builds a robot to defeat the mummy. So bad I had to see it to the end. The robot is a special effect not to be missed. If ratings reflected bad this would be four star.

A bizarre Mexican B-Movie that mixes a supernatural mummy named Popoca that is cursed to guard a set of sacred Aztec artifacts with a plot that involves hypnotism, bits of reincarnation and a good dose of mad science. A mad scientist nicknamed the Bat is hell-bent on stealing the valuables and decides to build a robot that can destroy the mummy when it attempts to reclaim the treasure.

This is one of those "so bad it's good" movies. The majority of the movie is told in flashbacks, the heroes are unsurprisingly uninteresting, the robot at the end of the film is hilariously bad and the Bat hams up the screen with maniacal mad scientist glee.

By no means is it a good film, but it does have an insane kind of energy that makes it appealing to those that love B Horror movies.
