Audience Reviews for Seventh Heaven

Jimmy Stewart as, get this, a Parisian sewer worker, who longs to be a street cleaner. As circumstances have it he manages to accidentally save an suicidal streetwalker and winds up falling for her, and she for him, in this unconventional, yet predictable, still charming romance.

Unmemorable in every way. Setbound remake of the silent classic is well produced but stilted and awkward. Made very early in Jimmy's career he is totally miscast as a Parisian sewer worker, lush romanticism was never his strong suit, and he sticks out like a sore thumb. This is especially jarring since costar Simone Simon was actually French.
