Movie Info

Written and directed by Alex Noyer, this horror thriller sees deaf ten-year-old Alexis Reeves (Jasmin Savoy Brown) experience the trauma of her PTSD-ridden father murdering her mother. Attempting to save her, Alexis hits him over the head, killing him. It is at this moment she regains her hearing in a rush of synesthesia. Now an adult, Alexis is quiet about her past but keen to get that same rush as she experiments with unusual and sadistic sounds to try to relive the sensation; but only acts of graphic violence truly create the soundscape she desires. Co-starring Lili Simmons and James Jagger.

Alex Noyer is out to shock the hell out of you and he does just that with this hardcore horror outing, which is as original as it is gory.

"Sound of Violence" boasts perhaps the greatest giallo premise that Dario Argento never dreamed up. It's just a shame that Noyer decides that it isn't enough.

Even with his most imaginative slaughter sequences, Noyer aims for more than shock value.
