Overall the characters are cliched, the story predictable and the jokes, for me at least, not funny.
More likely to inspire cringing than heart-warming, freewheeling laughs.
A valiant attempt at a broad Aussie comedy...The film can't be faulted for its ambition - the constant embracing of rural caricatures is clearly meant to be endearing - but the gags are either too weak or too vulgar to lift it.
There are too many characters in this film and they do distract from the main show.
Real belly laughs are few and far between.
It is always rather chilling to see a homegrown flick of any calibre fold like a cheap card table in front of a paying crowd.
