To start, if you're a fan of the franchise you're immediately taken out of it by the voice acting. The substitute voices are far distracting if you're used to the original cast. They make Superman out to be a very, very slow learner and Lex's character has been turned into a complaining child.

A solid if unspectacular effort; best when invoking Superman: The Animated Series, from which it takes much of its cast, it lacks that show's menacing portrayals of Brainiac and Luthor, the latter seems to channel the Gene Hackman version, and its inspiring score is missing too. Instead it tells a Silver Age-style twisting plot focusing on Clark's unrequited love for Lois, which delivers a couple of good surprises and a lot (too much?) action, but little in the way of excitement.

Although non-canon despite the pleasant return of a modern animated style and vocal energy, except on how the secondary antagonistic force was portrayed, it's mostly satisfying from the looks of a considered future direction with a thrilling pace that matches a portion of the genre's current taste in action. (B+)

This was pretty bad. It took a story used much better in the animated series and dumbed it down for no good reason. Thankfully the DC animated films improved after this one. Lex was just so annoying in this one.

A good portrayal of Superman placed on the backdrop of a neo-futurist Metropolis, Superman: Brainiac Attacks was a present surprise for the old DC Animated Universe. The animation was at its usual high standard, and the action sequences were particularly involving. The characters of Brainiac, Lex Luthor, Jimmy Olsen, and Lois Lane were as one-dimensional as usual. However, this is made up for by Clark Kent's well-made exploration in this film. As Clark Kent is Superman's only weakness, it is important to give time and effort to develop this character. The story is as mundane as I have grown to expect from this series, but that does not stop Superman's shining character from shining through. I am glad that the universe ended on a high note.

As far as animated DC films go it's pretty poor compared to the Batman animated films, But kids will enjoy it, But it's cheesy tone and boring story isn't enough to keep older viewers entertained.

It's probably the worst of animated Superman.

Just because it is made for kids and not as good as the series does not mean it is bad. Some good voice actors and the story far more emotional than I would have expected.

Brainiac Attacks is horrible. The dialog is crap, Lex Luthor is goofier than Hackman's portrayal (at least they had an excuse), and the mature sensibilities from the 90s animated show are gone.

Pretty bad when compared to the Bruce Timm's Superman series. Lex Luthor in this movie is being replaced by a bumbling idiot, it's so bad it's funny.

This may be worse than the Shazam/Superman movie. Animation, story, and acting is bottom of the barrel. Almost seemed like a cheap knock off.
