Frankly, "The Amityville Murders" feels like a missed opportunity.
Rather than a script, it uses a 'Haunted House Movie 101' checklist.
There are some groovy '70s costumes on display and features cool garage rock... THE AMITYVILLE MURDERS winds up another lackluster entry in the franchise.
The scares are tolerable and predictable, with the experience leaving you frustrated that the film's many opportunities were completely squandered.
What could have been an exciting entry into the Amityville saga turns out to be a tasteless piece of mildly supernatural fecal matter.
