This is the most nerve-wracking small horror film that I have seen in a very, very long time.
It's remarkable how much dreadful mileage Messrs. Powell and Charbonier get out of Kevin and Bobby's plight, far more than if the tween boys were simply threatened with death.
The movie does not transcend its virtuosic, almost abstractly taut storytelling.

The debut feature from the writing/directing duo of David Charbonier and Justin Powell is so skillful, precise and well-acted that you'll want to give the film a chance and stick with it, even through some deeply uncomfortable moments.
[An] effective use of a simple premise and modest means to create a nicely nerve-jangling thriller.

Its best-friends-for-ever message is barely enough to keep the film on the right side of palatable.
