The Fighting Coward (1924)

Movie Info
This silent satire takes a strong swipe at Old Southern values as it tells the story of a Southern boy who is raised by Yankee Quakers. When he finally returns to the family plantation and he refuses to duel for his honor, his appalled kinfolk nearly kick him out until he proves to them once and for all that he is anything but a coward.

The Fighting Coward seemed to me to be awfully funny, but not because the director meant it to be.
