Truly one of the crummiest movies ever made.

A bizarre teaming of Warhol Factory director Paul Morrissey with a cast of top-rate British comedians, this founders badly.
The humor is superficial and tawdry, and tries to copy Mel Brooks' style, but fails to do so. [Full Review in Spanish]
Morrissey is a notoriously unpredictable director, but in this case it's the shoddy screenplay, co-written by Morrissey, Cook and Moore, that is to blame.
It's basically 'Carry On Sherlock', and it does the memory of all concerned no favours.
This tasteless spoof of the famous Sherlock Holmes tale stars Peter Cook and Dudley Moore as Holmes and Watson in a seemingly endless string of unfunny jokes told at the expense of Doyle's characters.
Audience Reviews for The Hound of the Baskervilles
Spoof version of the classic Sherlock Holmes story with a strong cast of well knowns. Completely devoid of laughs - and if a spoof with a theoretically good cast has no laughs then it is just tiresomely self indulgent - tiresome indeed.
