Unfortunately, sparse dialogue and subpar acting do not help The Inheritance in what it lacks in story and mystery. It's too cold and simple, leaving viewers unfulfilled.
All in all, this is one of the better recent ghost stories. It has been assembled with a confidence which makes it easier to accept the fantastic elements, and it makes good use of simple effects to build up atmosphere.
