Critic Reviews for The Peanut Butter Solution
One of the enduring weirdo kids classics of Canadian cinema, this 1985 film about bullying, body horror and the exploitative nature of the free market is also spry, adventurous and fun.
Audience Reviews for The Peanut Butter Solution
A kid loses his hair from a frightful shock, but some grateful ghosts give him a secret recipe for regrowing it; complications ensure when he doesn't follow the formula exactly. Kids who saw this in the 80s never forget it, since its extremely odd and frightening to children; adults seeing it for the first time may notice that it's not very well acted or directed, but the fairy-tale style story is well done and keeps your interest. Not available on DVD (probably has something to do with a pre-fame Celine Dion's lame contributions to the soundtrack). It was easy to find a very cheap VHS copy on Ebay.
A goofy kids' movie. It feels very Canadian. Movie Central used to play it to death. A boy, his friends, and family get into some silly trouble with Peanut Butter. The youngin's would like it; not I.
