It is not a film to criticize adversely the excuse for a story, for to be able to listen to Mr. Tibbett sing is ample reward for sitting in one's seat. It is, moreover, an audible picture in which the vocal sounds are finely synchronized.

If Mr. Tlbbett's magnificent baritone voice were taken away, little of consequence would remain.

It was notable because the 100% technicolor was an improvement on previous color films. Too, it fills any huge auditorium with much the best voice yet known to cinemaddicts, the voice of Grand Opera Baritone Lawrence Tibbett.

Entirely in color, the picture bus a series of beautiful scenes, interior, and exterior.

The charm of [Lawrence Tibbett's] personality, added to that of his voice, impress one with the fact that, with all the success talking and singing pictures have made, nothing like it has been produced.
The final impression is that it is the glorious voice of Lawrence Tibbett and the perfect artistry of his singing that overwhelms all else.
