Based on the classic Nathaniel Hawthorne novel, this is the story of the infamous Hester Prynne, tried by her own townspeople in colonial Salem and found to be guilty of heinous fornication, adultery and of having born an illegitimate child. Her punishment--to be branded for the rest of her life with a scarlet A for adultery on her clothing.
