Think of it as a low-budget The Goonies. Still, for the right age group it's not terrible, and with fewer content concerns than the '80s classic, it's a viable candidate for a sleepover night.
This is one of those dopey confections that parents convince themselves that kids want to see because it is fast and noisy and filled with slapstick silliness while forgetting just how bored they were by similar films when they were kids themselves.
