By the time "Tumbledown" reaches its genuinely rousing conclusion, you could wonder why Hannah was ever down in the dumps, but it's all the more satisfying because of the path she has to take to get there.

A romantic comedy with certain drama touches, where everything that happens is perfectly predictable from the first minutes. [Full review in Spanish]

A romantic tragicomedy that debates between the ironic dialogue and the reflection on the legacy and the ways to look for the happiness in an ideal Arcadia. [Full review in Spanish]

'Tumbledown' is not-quite-a-humdinger about a dead folk singer, featuring funnyman Jason Sudeikis as a surprisingly effective romantic lead, and as such-it's right nice.

A film that survives by its atmosphere, Tumbledown finds itself floundering at moments that are more plot oriented.

As a study of grief, it's moving, featuring authentic performances and a keen understanding of the receding hibernation that comes with losing a cornerstone person in one's life.

This one rewards the viewer with a typically fine performance by Rebecca Hall and a revelatory one by Jason Sudeikis, whom we usually associate with comedy.

It trips over itself trying to balance its themes alongside the comedy and romance, but as tumbles go it's a painless one.

An apocalyptically disappointing third act derails Tumbledown into every cliché promised by its poster, but for long before that it's so genuinely sweet and deeply layered that by the time you get to the I Love You's, you may be smitten too.

Hall and Sudeikis circle around one another warily, erupting into defensiveness, shutting each other out, then letting each other back in. There's a rhythm to it. Mewshaw helps sustain that rhythm.

If it's possible to be pastoral and quaint in a brazen, unapologetic way, Mewshaw and Van Til have managed it: Their film is occasionally lovely, occasionally cloying, and always... what's that word? "Romantic."
