Operatic tenor standout Jon Vickers performs four scenes -- with complete stage treatment -- as the following characters: Handel's Samson, Beethoven's Florestan, Benjamin Britten's Peter Grimes and Verdi's Otello. Filmed at Ottawa's National Arts Centre in conjunction with the Canadian Broadcasting Company, the production features accompaniment from the National Arts Centre Orchestra, conducted by Franz-Paul Decker.
