In early 1960, Victor Torres and his family emigrated to Brooklyn, New York from his native Puerto Rico in search of a new life. The American dream fades quickly as they face a life of deprivation in their country of adoption. As a new recruit in a street gang, Victor embarks on a new lucrative business dealing drugs in an attempt to help his family is in financial difficulties. Victor is enslaved by drugs, and their parents, Manuel and Lila desperate to impotence must find a way to help your child sinking into despair and addiction.
