I am not a hockey fan and found this movie "by accident' in my library years ago and always suggest it to people. There are two very powerful scenes in my opinion. One where Wayne is telling him about how he used to flood the backyard to make an ice rink and the other is when Wally decides to clean out the basement and wonders why they saved all this "hockey stuff"! For anyone who has ever had to watch a loved after a brain injury be completely different from their former selves, this movie is like an understanding friend. It was no coincidence that this movie ended up in my hand after my Dad's death after laying brain injured from August 2004 till December 2005!

04.11 This movie was an interesting little bit of Canadiana I watched late night on CBC. I'm sure it will only apeal to other Canadians, I mean its cheesy and about Wayne Gretzkey's dad Walter, lots of hockey involved here and in one scene they even go to Tim Hortons. I mostly watched it for Kris Holden-Ried, I like him better with a beard but I'll watch him in anything.-ANYTHING

This is the story about Wayne Gretzky's father Walter and his recovery from a heart attack that left him with memory loss and a change in personality. It is awesome and truly well-done. With unconditional love as a center-piece.
