Movie Info

One of the team's feature-length gems, "Way out West" is a dead-on Western spoof with Laurel and Hardy traveling West to Brushwood Gulch to deliver the deed to a gold mine. A soft-shoe routine in front of a saloon is one of the team's most charming moments.

I can't stop laughing while watching 'Way Out West', the James W. Horne comedy starring Laurel and Hardy. I find it amazing that his slapstick humor feels fresh. [Full review in Spanish]

Audience Reviews for Way Out West

References Chaplin's The Gold Rush and It Happened One Night. Also contains a band of cowboys singing a song, which is musically quoted in Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?. Plenty of manic slapstick. How many obstacles will the boys encounter in delivering the deed to a gold mine to its proper owner, the young and innocent Mary Roberts? Can the extremely ticklish Stanley and put-upon Ollie see past the rotten scheme of the saloon owner and his chanteuse wife to steal the gold for themselves?

I own the tape to this and it's in color, not complaining but maybe I'm bragging just a little bit. Awesome.
