Critic Reviews for White Heat
Filmed against a Hawaiian background, White Heat is a humorless account of the amorous difficulties of a young sugar planter.
Film has all the earmarks of authenticity. The camera, however, lacked the vision of the average travelogue. or newsreel clip for which this locale is old territory.
There are many spots where the film looks like the Infant talkies back in 1929, and the acting is generally amateurish. Despite its crudity, movie fans on Kauai will : undoubtedly want to see it.
It has been written and directed by those who quite obviously are familiar with the unusual background of the drama. Hence it carries a strong atmosphere of realism and sincerity.
