Critic Reviews for Being Human: Series 4
All Critics (7) | Top Critics (1) | Fresh (7) | Rotten (0)
Every end is a beginning and, in the newbies, Being Human has promising signs of fresh life.
Writer Toby Whithouse handled the seemingly impossible in admirable fashion, penning an episode that was very firmly looking to the future.
This year's arc plot - the War Child -- is immediately gripping. The flash-forwards to a resistance bunker in a 2037 ruled over by vampires are seriously cool.
The special effects won't keep you up nights, the transformations and the blood remain un-frightening. Instead of such visceral sensations, the show reveals what's human in monsters and vice versa.
I got sucked in -- clearly so sucked in that I'm inadvertently making vampire puns -- to the complex plot.

What's happening on camera is as powerfully, provocatively entertaining as ever.
