In this noirish comedy, struggling Brooklyn writer Jonathan Ames (Jason Schwartzman) decides to moonlight as a hard-boiled private eye after his girlfriend leaves him because of his habitual use of white wine and marijuana. The series was created by author and graphic novelist Jonathan Ames. Cases in the first season include a man from New Jersey who hires Jonathan to retrieve a sex tape from a female escort who's trying to blackmail him; and a woman who wants Jonathan to find out if her boyfriend is cheating on her. Filmmaker Jim Jarmusch, Patton Oswalt and Parker Posey are among the guest stars.
