EZ Streets: Season 1 (1996-1997)

Critic Consensus: From the brilliantly dark mind of Paul Haggis, EZ Streets delivers an intriguing crime drama with its moody Celtic score, engaging storylines, and stellar casting.

Tv Season Info

A riveting, edgy crime show that was likely too dense---or depressing---to capture a wide audience. Set in an inner city, creator-producer Paul Haggis's moody, noirish tale follows undercover cop Cameron Quinn, who is accused of corruption after his partner is gunned down and $10,000 turns up missing. His quarry, the frightening Jimmy Murtha, is played by Joe Pantoliano.

EZ Streets is as close as we'll come to a first-class dramatic series this fall. It's not as immediately involving as last season's Murder One, yet the fine acting, photography and music could hook viewers.

The series is highly atmospheric but confusing. The audience might not sit still.

One of the best-written and best-acted new shows this season, although its moody feel and dark look may not bode well for EZ ratings success.
