Free Ride: Season 1 (2006)

Critic Consensus: Its kinetic, improvisational style is more jarring than entertaining, but Free Ride still has its share of off-beat laughs.

Tv Season Info

A recent college grad undergoes culture shock after he moves back to his small Missouri hometown, where his parents are in therapy and his high-school crush is engaged to the class jerk. This semi-improvised comedy showed promise after premiering in a coveted post-'American Idol' slot, but the ride was over after only six episodes.

Free Ride is shot mainly in jarring close-ups, and the editing is choppy, putting the focus on specific lines said by specific characters... the effect fails to create any rhythm of humor, leaving the action chaotic and the dialogue dull.
