This show deserves to be big.

The campers look and act like real kids, exchanging awkward teenage banter, sharing poignant stories and - of course - looking for first love.

A series that looks like another ABC Family success story.

Maybe the difference between Huge and almost every other TV show is that this one doesn't always tell us how to react. That's a gamble. Full credit to Huge for taking it.

Blonsky does a nice and almost-too-convincing job with the troubled teen who carries around her weight as though the very world were on her shoulders. Hairspray fans won't see a hint of Tracy Turnblad.
The show benefits from an exceptional cast - the actors humanize the issue of teen obesity and encourage viewers to really walk in the characters' shoes before passing judgment.
