Critic Reviews for Hull High: Season 1
All Critics (6) | Top Critics (4) | Fresh (1) | Rotten (5)
Show featured bizarre and unexpected song-and-dance routines by hip-hop student body.
All I can say is, the rating seemed like a good idea at the time. Nancy Valen's dance number ("Soft and Round as a Peach") was a real factor. But it's over between us now. RIP.

Imagine the high school in "Fame" with underachieving, sex-obsessed students - and sex-obsessed teachers. The musical numbers are fun, however.
Everybody at Cordell Hull High School is a musical fool... It makes the production numbers, particularly the dancing, vibrant. But the dramatic stretches are stale, and the tone is too often leeringly sexist.
This is stickless, wipe-away TV that, like some of its young protagonists, hopes to get by on looks and personality, not brains.

It's just another high-school show, but Hull High deserves a decent grade.
