Critic Reviews for Jeremiah: Season 1
All Critics (5) | Top Critics (2) | Fresh (0) | Rotten (5)
The world of Jeremiah is far more primitive and realistic, and the more disturbing and fascinating for it. Unfortunately, the writing is spotty and the plotting rickety, with too many dead spots where what's happening doesn't advance the story.
It's a dark, dark, dark world in Showtime's new sci-fi series, Jeremiah... But there's neither the humor nor the wisdom of Six Feet Under.
Jeremiah is mostly slow, dreary and ugly. To pick up a phrase from one of the villains, the show seems to be suffering from "postmodern entropy."
Perhaps the regular series will improve. Jeremiah begins, however, as a slow-moving, ungainly morality tale encumbered by bad acting and a lead in Perry who is un-magnetic and unpersuasive.

[It] is going to have to grow some itself if its premise is going to work.
