I enjoyed watching Wootton work his way through the fringes of Hollywood, the world of D-list publicists and acting teachers.
La La Land offered several easy, hollow laughs from Wootton's cst of grotesques, but to steal a thought from Bob Dylan, in the end nothing was revealed.
How is it funny, exactly?
One's tolerance for these "Borat"-like shenanigans -- which at times border on cruel -- is tested by six episodes, and after that visit leaving "La La Land" finally felt like a relief.
Not for the squeamish, but worth the pain.
Mr. Wootton enjoys pushing the comedic envelope.
