In series 3, Miranda decides to be just friends with Gary and sets out trying to find a new boyfriend. Deciding she has to grow up, Miranda takes on the responsibility of babysitting a young child and to further her maturity, throws a dinner party. Later in the series, Miranda must spend five days trapped in her flat looking after her sick mother and Gary buys a restaurant.

At the end of the episode, Miranda gave up on pretending to be a normal thirty-something year-old and delivered a heartfelt speech about how the world would be a better place if adults acted a bit more childishly every now and then. Now that's funny.
