Critic Consensus: Roadies' condescending tone, boring and underdeveloped characters, and lack of dramatic intrigue lead to a failure to rock.

As my panel of technicians note, Crowe gets some of the little things right, even if the series overall is a bit of a mess.
It may not be rock 'n' roll - but we like it.

Roadies exemplifies the best of Crowe's earnest exuberances, as well as the potholes he should now know how to avoid.
The worst of Roadies doesn't negate its sweet spots. It's almost as if the series is an ongoing collection of albums, some far better remembered than others.

Unfortunately, the characters in Roadies, writer-director Cameron Crowe's new Showtime series about a rock band's road crew, come off like an irritating Sorkin ensemble.

Unlikeable characters fill the foreground, while an unfocused music track fills the background.
