Critic Consensus: Staged's second season suffers from pandemic fatigue, but seeing Michael Sheen and David Tennant back in action may be enough of a balm to make it worth the watch anyway.

Tennant and Sheen aren't the sole attractions of "Staged," but they are the main ones.

For one thing, every episode bristles with memorable comic lines, winning believability and an authentic undertow of increasing lockdown desperation. For another, they're only 15 minutes long.
Really we're here to see this terrific duo send their public personas and profession up, which they do time and again with panache and aplomb.
If you want to understand British humor with Scottish and Welsh accents, this is the show to watch... It's just off-beat enough for it to work.
Worse, it wasn't funny any more, except for the mildly amusing episode with Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Cate Blanchett. Like jokes about Zoom and the panic buying of loo roll, it was fun while it lasted.
You never would've believed that starring at two whiny and bickering actors could be so funny.
